Dark Dome games in order

There are seven Dark Dome games at the moment and you might be wondering what’s the correct order to play them in (or when where they released). It won’t be a nightmare if you play them in chronological order of release, but if you’re just starting with the series, it might be best to play the Dark Dome games in a different order.

I will list the Dark Dome games in chronological order below, but I will also share, afterwards, the order I think it’s best to play them in if you’re just starting.

However, while there are some connecting elements between the storylines of each game, they all also work independently. If you just want to play the newest games, you can just do that and you’ll have a fun time.

The Girl in the Window

The Girl in the Window

Release date: November 2019

The Girl in the Window is the first game of the series and offers a great starting point for the story and series itself.

The people of Hidden Town are scared. The villagers claim to have seen the figure of a girl who looks from the window of one of the houses. Which is very strange, because that house has been abandoned 20 years ago.

Creepy? Sure is! So play the game to solve the mystery!

Unwanted Experiment

Unwanted Experiment

Release date: April 2020

This game is mostly unrelated to the other games in the series, even though it takes place in the same town, but you can play it whenever you want. Still, I recommend playing it after The Girl in the Window, mostly due to difficulty (this one is harder).

You are trapped in a crazy scientist’s laboratory and your quest is to escape before he returns and you become a victim of his experiments.

Nowhere House

Nowhere House

Release date: November 2020

A long time ago a witch lived in Hidden Town. Her house remains at the top of the hill to this day. Legend has it that if you walk into her house, you can be trapped forever. Would you dare to investigate if it is true?

You sure will, and you will have a great time trying to escape! It’s worth noting that the events in Nowhere House occur at the same time as in Haunted Laia (another game in the series – see below) and it’s important to play these after each other.

The Ghost Case

The Ghost Case

Release date: August 2021

Ghost Case occurs 20 years after the story in The Girl in the Window. Additionally, you should play it after the Unwanted Experiment, since the tips included in the second game will make your experience here much easier.

On top of those, The Ghost Case also occurs after the events in Haunted Laia, since you can see the detective talking to Witch Laia.

Haunted Laia

Haunted Laia

Release date: February 2022

A new family has arrived in Hidden Town, but from the day they moved in they have experienced harassment from strange presences in their own home until after a few days they disappeared without a trace. It’s up to you to solve the mystery!

Haunted Laia occurs at the same time as Nowhere House, so you should play them after each other ideally.

Another Shadow

Another Shadow

Release date: December 2022

Bastian and Carissa have moved into a new home experiencing paranormal events. But it is not the house that hosts these specters. The shadow of an ancient curse has returned and it won’t go away until he gets what he wants.

Another Shadow seems to be on the same timeline as Ghost Case as it’s during Bastian’s 32nd birthday.

Escape From the Shadows

Escape From the Shadows

Release date: August 2023

Last but not least, Escape From the Shadows’ events occur right after the ending of Another Shadow, so you should play this after completing the previous one in the series.

Detective Ren Larsen has received a strange request: Bring someone back from the afterlife. Bastian has been kidnapped by the shadows and taken to another world, and he must be returned or he will become a shadow forever.

Beyond the Room

Beyond the Room

Release date: June 2024

Beyond the Room is the latest game in the series. While it’s not connected to the previous games and can be played as a standalone title, it’s a great one that fans of the series will love.

Story-wise, here’s what we have: A building in the town has been abandoned for six years. No one wants to inhabit it due to its dark past. There are stories of rituals, witchcraft, and murders. Could they just be rumors?

Darien feels a lot of curiosity about entering and exploring the building, but he has been having nightmares every time he approaches. One night, he receives signals from the fifth floor. Lights flicker on and off, and mysterious silhouettes appear in the window.

He senses that someone needs help and decides to go in to investigate. Is it a good idea to go in alone? Sounds nice and creepy, just like we like it from the Dark Dome games we’ve seen in the past.

Get the game from Google Play. Alternatively, if you need help completing the game, check out my Beyond the Room walkthrough.

As I said, it’s perfectly fine to play these games starting with the first launched and progressing to the latest. But there’s a tiny exception with a bit of story connections that would make playing the games in the order recommended below better:

  1. The Girl in the Window
  2. Unwanted Experiment (can be played any time)
  3. Nowhere House
  4. Haunted Laia
  5. The Ghost Case
  6. Another Shadow
  7. Escape From the Shadows
  8. Beyond the Room (can be played any time)

These would be the Dark Dome games listed in order – you know now both the chronological order of release for the games, but also the best order to play the Dark Dome games in.

If a new games launches in the series before I get the chance to update this article, please let me know so I can update it ASAP. Also, if you have other questions or comments, don’t hesitate to write them down below!
