Plot: For generations, the De Lupe clan has used their werewolf curse to protect the city of Gévaudan. Now the Count believes someone is out to get him while his son Pierre is too young to assume the family burden. When you arrive to investigate though, the town is overrun by dark creatures and the Count has gone missing!

Shadow Wolf Mysteries 5 – Game Play & Review
This game started a little slow. But it doesn’t take too long for you to get in to the game play. Plus getting used to the idea that you’ll have to kill werewolves!
I like the setting of the Victorian European city. And I enjoyed the eerie atmosphere of a city under curfew. So you get to explore the empty streets of this beautiful city. But all the while there’s the tension of the threat from outside the city walls. And though the voice-overs and dialogue are little clumsy. The graphics and cut-scenes are well-designed. And the classical-style music added to the tense atmosphere.
Hidden Object & Puzzle Game Play
The hidden object scenes cover a wide variety of types and difficulty. From interacting with the items to ‘make’ the item you need to tick off the list. Or taking the items from the list to complete items in the scene. Or playing hidden object scenes in the story books, as you read about how the city has come to be in it’s current predicament.
There are plenty of mini-games and puzzles throughout. Again they cover a good range of difficulty and variety. Including those you need to play to help release the spirits. For example, you have to find the 5 clues on their person. To discover how they came to their demise. Before the spirit can be released.
Every time you release a spirit successfully, you can click on the statue icon in the left hand bottom corner. And this will take you to the graveyard where there are totems. Click on these totems and you are given a jigsaw puzzle to solve. Once solved you can learn a little more about the werewolves ancestors. To help you in finding a way to deal these creatures once and for all!
Overall
Overall, this is a nice twist on the usual mythical creature themed HOPA. Apart from the dialogue and VO, that can be a little slow at times. There’s much to recommend in this game. The HO scenes are good and varied, similarly the puzzles and mini-games. The story is good, with the music and visuals coming together to keep up the suspenseful atmosphere. Making this is a good and diverting supernatural adventure.
