Escape the Nightmare is a series of four timed missions in Rooms & Exits, and I am here to help you complete them all. Now we will start with the first mission in the limited series – The Haunted Hotel.
Today’s text walkthrough covers all the steps you need to follow to complete The Haunted Hotel in Rooms & Exits, which is helpful if all the in-game hints no longer help. It’s difficult, it’s a lot of pressure since you only have 30 minutes to complete it, but it’s also extremely fun. Let’s begin!
Rooms & Exits: The Haunted Hotel Walkthrough (Escape The Nightmare Mission 1)
1. Tap the shelves in the corner and get the Gear behind the cactus. Look at the photo frame and remember the shapes (purple flower-like, blue circle, green star, and orange circle with small cuts.
2. Tap the chair and make the shapes on top match the ones on the frame. Get the photo, Pin and Memento Vivere Coin.
3. Look at the symbols on the rug on the floor, then tap the chest. Tap the symbols in the same order – they look like ballerina, strange symbol, apple, sprinkler, big nose, &, D, h-m combo (or simply keep checking the rug to get them right as they appear to be randomized for each player).
The order in which you tap the symbols also matters. If you have the same order of symbols as mine above, here’s how to tap them:
- first tap always goes to the last position (h-m combo button)
- second tap – third (apple)
- third tap – second (strange symbol)
- fourth tap – first (ballerina)
- fifth tap – sixth (& symbol)
- sixth tap – fifth (big nose)
- seventh tap – fourth (sprinkler)
- eigth tap – seventh (D)
After you get this correct, get the Photo and Gear.
4. Tap the cloth on the bed to remove it and get another Gear, and see the code: 231.
5. Tap the chest in the corner and tap all the matching symbols on left and right (skulls and other items). If you can’t figure them out, here are their positions on a sketch:
When done, the doors open – get the pin and gear.
6. Tap the large clocks above the beds. Place the gears from your inventory in their spot and arrange them so the large ones are connected and start moving. When you do, the clocks will display different times: 12, 6, 3:15. But the correct order is told by the code on the bed.
7. Tap the left drawer and use the clocks’ code in the correct order to open it (631512). Get the box cutter and pin.
8. Tap the skull on the bed and use the cutter on its forehead to get the Memento Mori Coin.
9. Go to the other shelf and place the coins on the board. Now, we have to solve the puzzle by pressing the arrows (the green coin moves in the direction of the arrows, the blue one moves in the opposite direction).
If you can’t figure it out, here is how to press the arrows:
- right, down, down, down, down
- left, left, down, down
- right, down, right, right, up
- right, up, right, left, up, right
- down, down, right, down, right, up
- right, right, down, right, right, down, down
Get the photo and the piece of paper.
10. Tap the pin board with photos and, in your inventory, combine the three photos with the pins (same pin+photo color), then place them all on the board.
11. Now arrange the pins on the board to match the ones on the piece of paper in your inventory:
- Top row: Blue Square pin
- Second row from top: Red triangle and yellow circle
- Middle row: Blue triangle, Yellow Triangle, Red circle
- Fourth row from top: Blue circle, Yellow square
- Bottom row: Red square
After you do this, get the key and use it to open the door, then exit the room!
