I keep mixing Coliseum teams for the Era of Myths & Legends in SWGOH (the current era) and I think I finally found the best – at least for now, until new characters are unlocked.
I decided to share my top Coliseum team and explain why it works so well, especially since it has some characters that you wouldn’t normally team up. But for the purpose of the Coliseum battles, they work really well.
Before we check it out, if you want a more generic SWGOH Coliseum guide, you should read it too to get up to date with everything required there.
Now, let’s check out my recommended Coliseum team and see why it works so well at the moment!
Best Coliseum Team for Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes Coliseum

As you can see in my screenshot above, we have a really interesting mix of heroes chosen for the battle. Let me explain why this works so well:
Leader: Commander Luke Skywalker

We want him for multiple reasons. First of all, he has to be the leader because it gives rebel allies various boosts. He has solid Counter chances and his Call to Action skill is amazing (50% Critical Chance, among other boosts).
However, I usually start with Use the Force, as it dispels buffs on enemies and inflicts Tenacity Down. Even his basic is a good starting option, as it gives both Speed Down and Defense Down for 2 turns.
Yoda (Dark Side Vision)

Although he’s a healer, he’s extremely good at dealing damage – especially when assisting other characters. In my case, he’s also usually the last one standing and the top pick for assists.
Always start with Hear Me, You Will (or Consume, I will if the allies have plenty of debuffs at the start of the battle) and use the other special for the other attack.
Moff Gideon

This is my surprising pick, and he’s here for one reason only: his Darksaber Lunge special inflicts Armor Shred for the rest of the battle. This is huge, opening the door for massive damage dealing afterward.
Also, he gives a bit of a boost to Yoda through Tactical Deployment, while the Know Your Adversaries passive is great for giving Demoralized to the enemy.
The only “problem” is that after this first attack, you can and will only use his basic attack. But even so, the buffs and debuffs he offers make up for that.
I have to mention that MG was the missing link in my team setup and I only discovered how well he does while randomly choosing a character for this slot – I literally went through all the characters to see how they perform, and he does best.
Starkiller (Luke Concept)

While I definitely need him on a much higher level (working on that!), he’s the obvious choice for the leader pairing and all the other skills.
His ability block can come extremely handy if timed right, while Son of the Suns is great when fighting multiple enemies.
Jedi Knight Cal Kestis

This replaces Han Solo from my previous builds and wins by a ton. Even though he doesn’t get Leader boosts, he works flawlessly – he’s fast, attacks often, and I usually spam Windmill Defense with Yoda for maximum damage).
Give him a try in your rotation – especially with my team setup listed here, and you will see how well everything goes. It will probably be just like it was in my case, with at least a new high score if not a new Tier:

Notes about this Coliseum team setup
This works best against single-target enemies because of Moff Gideon’s debuff. I still use this exact setup against multiple enemy fights with better results than in other battles.

I am looking for options for the Krayt Dragon fight, where a character able to boost defenses will work better than Cal or even Starkiller (or maybe even Moff). I will keep exploring options here and report back with any new findings.
If you have additional recommendations, team set-ups for the Coliseum or comments, let me know down below: I’d love to hear what works best for you right now.
