Review

Set in Victorian London, this is a gorgeous new chapter in Eipix’s steampunk adventure series. Featuring a variety of fictional characters from classic adventure stories, from this same period.

In Vermillion Watch 3, you play Hawkes. And as a member of the Vermillion Watch, you’re assigned your next case. With a recent spate of rare antique thefts. You’re charged with overseeing and protecting the delivery of a very special Egyptian artifact. But from the beginning, events start to go awry!

With very good voice-overs, excellent background music and clear detailed visuals. Eipix sets the right tone and atmosphere for this adventure game.

The game play is also well-done, focussing more on mini-games rather than HOs and puzzles. The mini-games are very good, challenging and seamlessly used in the story. The hidden object games though few in number, adds some variety. With interactive and multi-layered HO scenes. Using both text and silhouette item lists.

Overall the story is good. Though at times, with so many key characters. It did get a bit confusing and complicated.

Apart from that, this was an engaging and atmospheric adventure game. With plenty of enjoyable and interesting game play.

This is the third installment in the series. See my post: Vermillion Watch Game Series List. For all of the game titles in the series so far, in order.
