It’s time to look back at one amazing HOPA series available on PC, mobile and consoles: Grim Legends. We’re talking about a solid trilogy here, one that many hoped would get more releases.
But even the three we have received from developers Artifex Mundi were a lot better than nothing, and if you feel that nostalgia hit, want to replay the games, or are simply curious to know the exact order in which the games released, plus all the details about them, read on.

1. Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride
Released: February 2014.
Plot: Within the shadow of an ancient forest, on the bottom of the foggy valley, stands the lonely village of Ravenbrook.
Its perimeter is protected by the villagers’ charms, but beyond the legends and the magic, the gloomy forests and wailing wind, lies a chasm so deep and feared, it is known by the villagers only as The Abyss.
No one knows what lies within, but when a strange visitor arrives in Ravenbrook just before a young bride is kidnapped, the villagers find justification for their superstitions…
2. Grim Legends: Song of the Dark Swan
Released: September 2014.
Plot: Your healing skills are world-renowned, and you are summoned to the Kingdom of Eagles to cure a young queen who cannot speak.
Just after your arrival, the infant prince is kidnapped, and the queen is accused of dark magic, sentenced to death.
Use your herbalism skills to solve puzzles and track down the real culprit. Not everything is as it seems and even the young queen has a dark secret of her own.
Bring light back to the Swan Kingdom in this enchanting hidden-object puzzle adventure game.
3. Grim Legends: The Dark City
Released: June 2016.
Plot: Step into the shoes of the Monster Hunter from the mysterious Order and save the city of Lichtenheim from a Nightmare coming from another dimension. Apprehend the thief of the powerful artifact and unravel the secrets of your own past!
My note: some console listings used to (and might still) list this game as “Grim Legends 4”. This is an error, as there was never a fourth game in this series, also not to be confused with the Grim Tales series by Elephant Games.
