The new mini Era in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is here: the Era of the Mandalorian and Grogu is a short, four-week one, but the challenge remains high in discovering the best possible team for this era.
I keep trying various Coliseum team combinations for this era and will share what works best for me right now. I will explain why this team setup works so well, even though it’s very early in the Era and things might change as new support characters are released.
Before we check it out, if you want a more generic SWGOH Coliseum guide, you should read it too to get up to date with everything required there. Now, let’s get into my new recommended team!
The New Best Coliseum Team in SWGOH (for the Coliseum)
For the new Era of the Mandalorian and Grogu in SWGOH, we don’t have plenty of options available at the moment, at the character levels are still low.
We basically have two obvious choices: go the Light Side / New Republic route, which seems to work best for Adelphi Ranger, or go the Dark Side / Mercenary route.
So far, the latter performs (surprisingly, I would add) better in my early tests. Here is the setup I am currently trying to perfect:

Leader: Embo & Keibu because of his leader skill. His Business is Business skill is perfect early on because all other mercenary allies have double their defense and health.
While you normally want to focus on offensive skills in the Coliseum, the fact that it’s so early in the game and enemies like Krayt Dragon one-shot a few team members in the first turn is useful.
The rest of the team is made from the rest of the Mercenaries minus Embo (because his skills are not yet useful in such difficult battles): Cad Bane, Aurra Sing, Fennec Shand. We’re rounding it up with the must-have character: Adelphi Ranger.
Why does this team work best + Tips?

Right now, as the character levels are low, it’s all about survivability. My early tests with more damage-oriented characters were terrible, because the Coliseum Boss took out up to 3 with its starting attack.
Therefore, we’re focusing on defense early on. We will move to more offensive combos as the characters level up and they can survive at least the first attack.
As for the battle itself, you will start with Aurra’s Hustle skill (gain Critical Chance up and extra damage), then follow with Adelphi’s Practiced Shot (for Defense Down) and then Embo & Keibu‘s basic attack – Anooba Ambush for the bleed effect.
Then, simply focus on dealing as much damage as possible with future attacks, taking advantage of specials that reduce the Boss’s turn meter and defenses.

Even so, since it’s been literally hours since the era started (at the moment of writing this article), don’t expect to go very far. But at least you know which is the best team setup right now.
Next, I will try mixing characters based on their skills, even if they lose some leader bonuses – sometimes, the results are surprising here. I will keep you posted either way.
But if you find other team setups that work better, let us all know in the comments below.
