Ghost Files 1 The Face of Guilt Review

The Face of Guilt starts with realistic police detective work. And an intriguing serial killer storyline. Before moving to more paranormal themes.

Your first main task as Emily, is to follow-up on a promising lead. Collecting evidence that you find on the way. And analysing them on the spot with your portable lab kit!

Play a variety of different types of hidden object games. To unlock further useful items. (You can choose to skip the HOP games, and play a card game instead.) And there are some interesting mini-games too.

The graphics are clear and well-done. And the music adds a suspenseful atmosphere. The voice-acting for the main character is very good. But the peripheral characters are less convincing and awkward at times.

Though there are plenty of HOPs, puzzles and mini-games throughout. The game as a whole, is quite short for a Collector’s Edition, even with the bonus chapter.

Overall, this is was a relatively short detective game. It did have some good hidden object puzzles. And more than the usual amount compared to recent HOPA releases. It would also have been good to use the lab kit more. As that was a cool detective gadget to play with.

Available on Amazon for: Fire Tablet (US) or Fire Tablet (UK).
